Symptoms of Cataracts
Cataracts are a progressive disease in which the crystalline lenses of the eyes become clouded and begin to compromise vision. The symptoms of cataracts get progressively worse with time. In addition, certain risk factors such as spending a lot of time in the sun without sunglasses can accelerate the onset of cataracts. When the following symptoms begin to seriously impede your ability to view objects and complete normal tasks, it is time to consider surgery:
Cloudy, blurry vision
Difficulty seeing in dark or dim conditions
Sensitivity to light and glare
Fading of colors
Frequent eyeglass prescription changes
Can I Undergo Cataract Surgery If I Have Other Eye Conditions?

How Soon Will My Vision Improve?
For most patients, their vision is still blurry for a few days after surgery. After that, they should see their vision improve considerably, and visual clarity will continue to improve over the next few months.
What Side Effects Will I Experience?
It is normal to experience some discomfort, swelling, redness, dryness, itchiness, and sensitivity to light in the days after cataract surgery. These side effects will subside in the days and weeks after surgery.
